TRIANGLE SWIMWEAR

Just north of Houston, at the Intersection of Mulberry and Lafayette…

lies a triangular peninsula of city block and within it, is a retail space that features two storefronts, one on each side street, offering clear visibility and access from one side of the triangle to the other. Drawing inspiration from the island of Manhattan being surrounded by water as well as the store’s merchandise, I proposed the installation of a water feature that bisects the space and spills over into the sidewalks outside of each facade. The moat, covered with glass on the exterior portions, is used to attract the attention of passerby and the 70% covered facade adds an air of mystery, enticing potential customers to enter. Once inside, the interior finishes are simple, natural and elegant throwing a beachy- cool vibe.
